PRIMA - Your Ticket to Culture in Beaver Creek and the Vail Valley

Beaver Creek and the Vail Valley takes the nationwide trend of cultural travel to new heights with PRIMA, a summer-long celebration of performing arts featuring three primary festivals with nearly sixty performances of the world's best music, dance and theatre. From June through September, acclaimed performers such as the New York Philharmonic and The Philadelphia Orchestra will take to the stages of The Gerald Ford Amphitheater in Vail and the Vilar Center in Beaver Creek. Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival and the Vail International Dance Festival headline PRIMA's extensive schedule of cultural offerings complemented by a multitude of free concerts, shows and musical reviews that take place in and around the Valley all summer long.

Please visit www.vilarcenter.org and www.primavailvalley.com for a complete look at summer performances in Beaver Creek and the valley.

Vilar Center for the Arts
Since its opening in February 1998, Beaver Creek's 530-seat Vilar Center for the Arts remains the first and only theater of its kind in a mountain resort community. Inspired by a small, turn-of-the-century opera house in Munich, Germany, this intimate venue is located in the heart of Beaver Creek Village underneath the outdoor ice rink. The Vilar Center hosts world-class performing arts of the caliber typically found at Carnegie Hall in New York or the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.  It serves as a focal point in the village, offering music, drama, dance, film and children's entertainment to resort guests.

SPAS

Allegria Spa at The Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa
970/748.7500 or www.allegriaspa.com

The Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa completed a $20 million hotel improvement plan in December 2006.  The resort's renowned Allegria Spa is now one of the largest, most innovative spa facilities in the United States.  Improvements include fifteen new, upscale fractional ownership units as well as enhanced public areas, meeting facilities and guest accommodations. The Park Hyatt committed 84 guest rooms to this change, creating fifteen fractional units that are stellar in size and design (nine two-bedroom and six three-bedroom). The improvement plan allows for air-conditioning in the 190 remaining guest rooms plus the existing fifteen condominiums. For reservations or more information, the toll-free number is 1-800-55-HYATT or visit beavercreek.Hyatt.com

Improvements to The Park Hyatt's Allegria Spa include the addition of a second story, doubling the size of the current retreat to 30,000 square feet. The cost of this addition alone totals $12 million. The "new" Allegria Spa features a Water Temple emphasizing the living force of water as it tumbles over stone into a heated mineral pool - an aromatic bath for women and men. Caldaria (98-degree) custom steam rooms support the experience with warmth and comfort. Two deluxe treatment suites offer private steam shower, changing area and massage tables for two. One includes a granite soaking tub for two while another offers side-by-side Vichy showers. Many of the 23 new treatments rooms are designed for specific treatments such as couples' massage, the renowned Ashiatsu (barefoot) massage, hot stone massage and Swiss shower treatment. The enlarged fitness area introduces "Kinesis," a new method of conditioning developed in Italy. Without the interference of cables, Kinesis incorporates a 360-degree rotating pulley system that enables free and natural movement on three planes. A separate yoga facility, Pilates studio and poolside stretching room incorporate the beauty of the surroundings.

Youth Spa

Prima Donna, a spa for little divas, returns for a fifth season at Allegria Spa.  Style-conscious teens and "tweens" can find bliss with treatments designed specifically for young women ages 5-16.  Treatments include "Peachy Keen" paraffin hand dip, "Be-jewelled" fingernail art, "Tattoo You" henna tattoo art, "Face Frosting" face mask, "Coconut Rub" body rub and more. 2006 prices were $15 for a 15-minute treatment. Hair braiding and body scrubs are available at an additional cost.
