The Mountain

Heavenly is big. So big, in fact, that one state couldn't hold it!

Heavenly is ranked as the top resort in Lake Tahoe by the readers of SKI Magazine. It has the highest summit elevation (10,067 feet), greatest vertical rise (3,500 feet) and most skiable terrain (4,800 acres).

Heavenly has excellent terrain for every level of skier or rider. For experts, there’s Mott and Killebrew Canyons in Nevada, Gunbarrel - the world-famous mogul run - in California, and North America’s best tree skiing in between.

In addition to providing an adrenaline rush for experts, the resort does a great job of catering to intermediate and advanced skiers. Heavenly specializes in the long groomers. In California, Ellie’s provides a screamin’ ride, and in Nevada, you can usually find freshies in the Milky Way Bowl, or you can hit Olympic Downhill to follow in the footsteps of Jean-Claude Killy or Franz Klammer.

But mostly, Heavenly is the view. The most spectacular view of Lake Tahoe - perhaps the most awesome view from a ski area summit anywhere - is at the top of the Sky Express. From here on a sunny day just after a storm, the lake looks like a brilliant blue sapphire, nesting in soft folds of white velvet. Pack a camera or stop at one of the photographer stations lining Ridge Run.

For beginners, it all starts at Adventure Peak. Heavenly doesn't stick its beginners on a bunny slope by the parking lot. Our ski school is located at 9,200 feet! From there, they can access Easy Street, Maggie's, Patsy's and Groove. Heavenly also offers a beginner's terrain park where would-be jibbers can go...medium.

Heavenly boasts five separate terrain parks so park riders of every skill level can get their jib on. High Roller Terrain Park is where you can catch a glimpse of your local team pro ripping it up. With features designed for the serious rider, High Roller will have you gasping for more while your jaw slacks in awe. And the park rats won’t have to go home once the streetlights come on; Heavenly will operate South Shore’s only night park. Heavenly’s park scene is so cool, it’s attracting professional riders like the South Shore Soldiers, and inspiring events like Heavenly’s Jackpot Rail Jam Series.
