![]() Dear Journalist: As Vail's 45th season gets closer, there's much to celebrate this year. Summer is bustling with a variety on on-hill projects that will offer new upgrades and amenities for skiers and snowboarders. Two new high speed quads chairlifts are being installed on the eastern side of the mountain. Chairs 10 and 14, Highline Lift and Sourdough Lift respectively, are being upgraded to faster high speed quads to expedite the trip to Two Elk Restaurant, China Bowl and Blue Sky Basin. Ride times on both lifts will be cut in half. The Chair 15 beginner lift, Little Eagle, at Eagle's Nest also is being upgraded to a triple, offering a faster trip and more snow time for those just learning. Down in the base area, the Golden Peak Children's Center is being remodeled increasing space for the ever-popular 3-6 age group. Moving west to Vail Village, Mountain Plaza will offer new skier service amenities just steps from the Vista Bahn including a new coffee house meeting place, rental and retail, adult ski school and lift tickets and ski storage. Mountain Plaza blends into Bridge Street across a heated pedestrian plaza. The area also will be home to new chalets, a private club and the Lodge at Vail RockResorts spa which will open during the winter of 2008. Finally in LionsHead, The Arrabelle at Vail Square, the resorts' new luxury hotel is set to open in January 2008. Its location at the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola, combined with the Square's ice skating rink, outdoor movie screen, skier services and retail, are sure to be a draw and make this a gathering place for locals and guests. For additional details on all of the projects or to find information to fit your story needs, please contact the Vail public relations office and we're happy to discuss your assignment in further detail. See you on the slopes! Jen Brown For summer press inquiries please contact: |
